I have a lovely Studio and Scrap Store called SCRAP STUDIOARTS, opening the doors to share a passion for creative arts and recycling activities of all kinds, running workshops and parties.
Based in Darlington I work with local businesses that have clean waste materials which can be reused in creative projects and art activities. The idea is you donate we create! Always looking for regular or one-off donations of clean safe waste materials, useful off cuts and unwanted items from production, retail or domestic clutter clearing…So don’t bin it, please donate it!
Visitors to the studio can learn new skills or develop existing ones. Many art and craft activities are available here to explore, mostly with a recycled/upcycled slant. Lots of ideas and support are on offer, follow the lead or feel free to work on your own projects. The sessions are friendly, fun and hands on with a broad range of different materials and equipment to use including 6 sewing machines that are already set up ready to use. Hope to see you there!
REGULAR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES IN THE STUDIO ARE:
TUESDAY
10-12noon MASTER CRAFT. A time to perfect those trickier projects. Adults- £5 per session. Drop in.
+ SCRAP STORE OPEN. For £5 take away a bucket of scrap materials: ideal for families, schools, playgroups, artists and theatre groups.
1-3pm MASTER CRAFT + SCRAP STORE OPEN
5.30-7pm CREATIVE FAMILY WORKSHOPS. Inspiration and materials for all ages to enjoy, £3.50 per person. Drop in + SCRAP STORE OPEN
WEDNESDAY
1-3pm CRAFTERNOONS. Tuition, equipment and a host of arts & crafts on offer with an up-cycling slant. Explore your vision; rummage through the scrap store and make things of all kinds for yourself or as gifts. Adults -£5 per person. Drop in + SCRAP STORE OPEN
THURSDAY
1-3pm CRAFTERNOONS + SCRAP STORE OPEN
5-6.15pm ART CLUB. Sewing the seed of creativity with ideas, space and materials. Most suitable for children aged 9+. Pay in advance per half term @£5 per session + SCRAP STORE OPEN
7-9pm CREATE NIGHT. Up-cycling art and crafts. Adults-£5 per person. Drop in + SCRAP STORE OPE
SATURDAY
10.30-12 noon CREATIVE FAMILY WORKSHOPS + SCRAP STORE OPEN
